2015-16 Boys Basketball Season
Welcome to the SYSO Boys Basketball 2015-16 season. We are extremely excited about the upcoming season and as our program continues to grow and develop. Below are some key items for the upcoming season and the overall program.
Boys Basketball Leadership Team
As aligned with the Somers Youth Sports Organization (SYSO) guidelines & bylaws, we have created a Boys Basketball Leadership team designed to lead & develop all aspects of the program in a proactive and transparent manner that focuses on the overall development of our children as basketball players, as individuals, and as members of a team.
The Boys Basketball Leadership Team consists of the following people:
Each role will be instrumental in the overall success of the Boys Basketball Program and has been approved by the SYSO Executive Board.
Objective of the Boys Basketball Program
The SYSO Boys Basketball Program’s philosophy is to create a recreational and competitively friendly environment in which children of varying skill levels have fun playing basketball thru teaching fundamental skills, rules and strategy of the game. Our goal is to model and teach competitiveness with an emphasis on good sportsmanship while providing a safe environment for all participating players. Our core belief is to stress the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. We expect all of our players, coaches, parents and officials to conduct themselves properly at all times in a respectful manner.
Upcoming Season Information
In Town Recreational Program:
Our program will only be as good as the parent volunteers that make up our coaching and administrative staffs. We are all parents in the community and lead hectic lives. The amount of time and energy needed to provide a positive basketball experience for the young people in our community is enormous and must be shared by all. Please consider volunteering your time and energy and become a part of your child's basketball experience.
Thank you for your commitment to our young players and the Somers Basketball Program. We are looking forward to another great season.
